THE LAUGHTER SAVES LIVES FOUNDATION
and the CROSS COUNTRY COMEDY TOUR have their roots in the aftermath of the WTC disaster. FDNY Haz-Mat Co. 1 Firefighter John Larocchia's inspiration came in the months that followed. John (a stand-up comic for many years), his Firehouse Haz-Mat Co. 1 and Squad 288 lost 19 of its members on 9/11/01, including John's good friend and radio co-host Tom Gardner.

So many people helped John, his firehouse, The FDNY and NYC get through this time; but it was all a blur. John remembers some of the first times where he started to feel normal was when he started to laugh again.

THE CROSS COUNTRY COMEDY TOUR has not only been a dream of John’s to thank people for what they did after 9/11, but to also give communities across the country an opportunity to thank and help their own emergency responders.

We want to show that:
"Laughter Can Change and Save Lives for the Moment… and For a Lifetime!"

We also put a face to those who risk so much right here at home to keep us safe and secure. Each show will be in memory of two Emergency Responders. One from NYC and the other from the community that is hosting the show. Our goal is to support charities who help Emergency Responders but also benefit Firefighters, Police, EMS, and members of the Military that we meet along the tour.

The Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation, Tuesday’s Children, Nassau County Fire Fighters Burn Center Foundation and The Burn Center at Ohio State University Medical Center are just a few of the many charities we have supported.
